Kendyll Reeve - Room 5

Team Leader

This will be my fourth year teaching at the wonderful Ōtūmoetai Primary School. Before teaching in Tauranga, I taught in Whakatane at Awakeri Primary School (Full Primary) for five years, teaching from Year 0-1 to Year 7/8. I am currently teaching in Room 5 with an amazing group of Year 5/6 students. I really enjoy working with this age group. Two of my favourite subjects to teach are Writing and Dance.  In my spare time I enjoy netball, swimming, volleyball, and dancing.

Tarquin Smith - Room 1

Teacher

This is my fifth year teaching at Otumoetai Primary. Before OPS I was at Bethlehem Primary and before that I was teaching in Christchurch. I love teaching Year 5's and 6's, and enjoy working with children in their last two years of Primary School, watching them develop and preparing themselves to go to Intermediate. I love teaching Maths! When I am not at school, I enjoy water sports, especially being at the beach, and my favourite sports are Surf Life Saving and Water Polo.

Sarah Brown - Room 2

Kia ora!

This is my first year teaching at Otumoetai Primary. Before OPS I was at Tirau Primary School. I started teaching at the Mount and have travelled all around the world with this fabulous teaching qualification. I love teaching Year 5s and 6s, and watching them develop and grow in confidence. I especially love teaching maths, reading and art and am passionate about caring for the environment. When I am not at school, I enjoy gardening, walking my dog, swimming and hanging out with friends and family.

Rachael Kingsbury - Room 3

Teacher

I am excited to join the awesome team at OPS. I have spent the last 8 years teaching Intermediate students and look forward to now encouraging the Year 5 and 6 students here on each of their learning journeys.

While I was born in the Hawkes Bay, I have spent most of my life in Titahi Bay, Wellington. I have enjoyed living in the sunny Tauranga for the past 10 years with my husband and five teenage children. I love the outdoors, and time with family and friends.

I am passionate about the wellbeing of our tamaraki and setting them up for a successful future.

Carl Acton - Room 4

Teacher

I moved to NZ from the UK in 2007. This is my 9th year of teaching at OPS. I have a passion for teaching maths, science and technology.
I love teaching Yr 5/6 and preparing the children to become life long learners.
I have two primary aged children and my wife is also a teacher.
In my spare time, I enjoy mountain biking, the beach and exploring our beautiful country.

Cody Schou - Room 6

Teacher

I am excited to begin my teaching journey as part of the Year 5/6 team at Ōtūmoetai Primary School. I have worked with children in both Summer Camp and School settings abroad (USA & UK) before returning to NZ last year to qualify as a Primary Teacher.
I previously studied a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation and have a passion for health and wellness.
I enjoy getting out and about in my spare time, be it playing sport (socially these days), exploring our beautiful country or making the most of the sun and amazing beaches right on our doorstep. I look forward to becoming a part of the Ōtūmoetai Primary School community and feel privileged to have the opportunity to support, encourage and challenge our students to be their best.
