Rachael Rowley - Room 15

Team Leader

I have enjoyed teaching at Otumoetai Primary over the last few years. I am the Lead Teacher for Kea Team and really love teaching and working with children in the middle area of the school. It’s rewarding to see their confidence, skills and knowledge grow as the year progresses. I am currently teaching a wonderful class of Year 3 and 4 students.

Jenny Chapman - Room 11

I am Jenny Chapman, privileged to be the teacher of an enthusiastic bunch of Year 2-3 children at Otumoetai Primary. I enjoy teaching all curriculum areas, growing children's learning skills and moving them forward in each subject so they become confident and connected on their learning journey.

Kathy Nicholson - Room 14

I am lucky to have an enthusiastic group of Year 2 and 3 students in Room 14 this year. They are learning to challenge themselves to meet new goals and it is exciting to watch their progress. The children enjoy using their wonderful imaginations to create fabulous pieces of artwork and interesting pieces of written work. They also love being physically active and developing new skills. I believe in nurturing the whole child and creating an environment where we learn from each other.
In my spare time I love being physically active and like to swim, bike, hike and explore new places with family and friends.

Carolyn Andrews - Room 15

I am very privileged to be teaching in the Pukeko team this year and am lucky to be sharing a class of Year 2/3 children with Mrs Cathie Stenhouse. In the mornings I will be teaching Reading Recovery and then will spend most afternoons teaching in Room 15.
I have taught at Otumoetai Primary for a number of years in the junior area. I am passionate about teaching in this area of the school and love being a part of a child's early learning. The enthusiasm they bring is infectious and the growth they make in all areas of their development is so exciting.
I endeavour to foster a love of learning and inquiry in the children I teach while acknowledging the variety of experiences and abilities they all bring.
Outside of school family and friends are very important to me as well as following different sports, going to the beach, fishing, reading and socializing with family and friends.

Kaaren O'Neill - Room 17

Kia ora kia koutou, Nga mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa hoki.

I have had the privilege of teaching at Otumoetai Primary for a number of years. I have a passion not only for literacy but also for Mathematics and enjoy seeing the children achieve success in all areas of the curriculum. I aim to develop children’s curiosity and sense of self as they begin their journey of being life long learners.

Fran Stephens - Room 18

I have enjoyed teaching at Otumoetai Primary School for a number of years. I originally taught in the Junior school but for the last four years have taught in very enthusiastic Year 3/4 classes, which I love. I have ten years experience as a Reading Recovery teacher, however, my big love is teaching Art and seeing how I can intergrate it into other Curriculum areas. I believe every child can feel successful through art and it makes our room an exciting, fun environment to work in.

When not at school I enjoy spending time with my three young grandsons, walking the dog, watching my husband fly fishing and reading a good book.
