Jenny Chapman - Room 11

I am Jenny Chapman, privileged to be the teacher of an enthusiastic bunch of Year 2-3 children at Otumoetai Primary. I enjoy teaching all curriculum areas, growing children's learning skills and moving them forward in each subject so they become confident and connected on their learning journey.

Kathy Nicholson - Room 14

I am lucky to have an enthusiastic group of Year 2 and 3 students in Room 14 this year. They are learning to challenge themselves to meet new goals and it is exciting to watch their progress. The children enjoy using their wonderful imaginations to create fabulous pieces of artwork and interesting pieces of written work. They also love being physically active and developing new skills. I believe in nurturing the whole child and creating an environment where we learn from each other.
In my spare time I love being physically active and like to swim, bike, hike and explore new places with family and friends.

Cathie Stenhouse - Room 15

Team Leader

It is great to be leading a group of talented teachers in Pukeko team this year.  Room 15 is where you will find me and a group of Year 2 and 3  children who love learning and having fun.   We enjoy lots of creative activities where the children's curiosity and imagination are encouraged.   Last year I was on study leave until Term 4 and took over Room 15 for the last term.  This year I am sharing the class with Mrs Andrews as I have a new role as Learning Support Facilitator(part time).  I am also involved with well being, and I am looking forward to the introduction of mindfulness this year.

This is my fourth year at OPS.  I have taught in schools in Taupo, Wellington and the UK.  I enjoy living in Tauranga and being close to the sea.  You can find me most weekends on the beach, walking, swimming or just sitting watching the world go by.

Annabelle Yeoman - Room 12

Kia ora!

I am Annabelle Yeoman - a bubbly, positive and enthusiastic teacher here at Otumoetai Primary School. I previously studied a Bachelor of Sports at Lincoln University and hold a Masters of Teaching and Learning. I am passionate about seeing ākonga thrive in who they are as individuals and develop the love for being a lifelong-learner.

I spend my spare time surfing, playing netball, touch and running. I am originally from Christchurch but love living in the Mount after moving since studying. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to love, support and encourage students to push themselves to their limits and achieve more than they could ever imagine.

Carolyn Andrews - Room 15

I am very privileged to be teaching in the Pukeko team this year and am lucky to be sharing a class of Year 2/3 children with Mrs Cathie Stenhouse. In the mornings I will be teaching Reading Recovery and then will spend most afternoons teaching in Room 15.
I have taught at Otumoetai Primary for a number of years in the junior area. I am passionate about teaching in this area of the school and love being a part of a child's early learning. The enthusiasm they bring is infectious and the growth they make in all areas of their development is so exciting.
I endeavour to foster a love of learning and inquiry in the children I teach while acknowledging the variety of experiences and abilities they all bring.
Outside of school family and friends are very important to me as well as following different sports, going to the beach, fishing, reading and socializing with family and friends.
